Twitter Confirms Brits’ Skepticism of American Health Insurance Gouging

Most people, inside and outside of the U.S.A., don’t realize just how broken this for-profit health insurance system is.  PoliticsJOE_UK decided to interview some English people on the street, and thankfully, they filmed their shocked reactions.

While the video is kind of amazing, the reaction on Twitter really captured the pervasive sentiment across America regarding this health insurance crisis.  People started lining up to tell their stories of spending thousands and thousands of dollars for the most remedial and banal services.

Check out this person who declined an ambulance, but was still charged $500:

Could’ve bought a used ambulance for that price.

Brits don’t understand that the cost of insurance isn’t just your monthly premium.  There are all sorts of ways they screw us.

Basically.

Don’t get sick.  You’ll be poor, and still sick.

The statistics prove we are overpaying for worse treatment.

Lots of people have to contemplate going into the ER or going bankrupt.

Imagine celebrating that you only had to pay $6000 OOP.  Sad.

A miscarriage of justice.

This.

It’s always fun when insurance companies dump the bill on you, even though you’ve paid up on your premiums and they just want to fuck with you.

The deny coverage for all sorts of menial things that other countries give away for pennies.

You get charged for failed treatments.  Imagine your mechanic breaking your engine and still sending you the bill.

Imagine how bad our medical system is that the Las Vegas victims’ medical bills are just as stressful as the shooting.

G’Day mate.

The delusion of coverage.  Most Americans think they are covered, so what’s the problem.  Until you get sick, you’ll never understand the Out-of-Pocket expenses.

This is amazing.  Watch Chinese officials slam this insurance rep.

Time is even more valuable than money, so the hassle of fighting the insurance industry to cover things and deal with the dozens of separate bills is added expense.

If given the option, establishment politicians and insurance execs would gladly remove the Preexisting Condition protections, leaving millions uninsured.

The rest of the industrialized world is either amused or shocked by our abhorrent system.

Almost kind of unbelievable.  We pay premiums for insurance, but that doesn’t cover all the expense, and the sad part is, we pay taxes to provide these services.

Insulin prices have gotten out of control, even though the current “recipe” hasn’t changed since 1979.

fREE :MAErkeTE!!!

Concise.

“You don’t want this.”  Right on.

The reason why your insurance and medical services cost so much, is because people can’t afford to get preventative or early treatments, so they let it go and that inevitably results in massive invasive surgeries.  That costs hundred of thousands or even millions to complete, and when they go bankrupt, the rest of us pick up the tab.  The only solution is Universal Health Care.

Facts.

The mythology of “good insurance.”

Even when you refuse service, you have to pay.

The rest of the world is honestly confounded by our failed system, that they are reaching out to American friends to verify this.

Our system is do different than the NHS, that Brits are upset about a parking validation.  Americans are going bankrupt over medical bills, and English people are just upset over a few dozen pounds of parking fees.
